The company is a graduate of the bwtech@UMBC incubator program and a current tenant in the bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park. To date, the company has raised more than $25M in venture investment.
InVitro Technologies
Celsis IVT is the premier world provider of specialized in vitro products for the study of metabolism, drug-drug interactions and toxicity in drug discovery and development. InVitro was founded in 1990 as an incubator company at bwtech@UMBC, and was acquired in 2006 by Celsis International for $30M. The company still has operations at bwtech.
Profectus Biosciences, Inc.
Profectus BioSciences, is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel vaccine candidates for chronic viral infections. The company joined the bwtehc@UMBC incubator program in 2006 and graduated in 2008. To date, the company has raised approximately $19M in venture investment.
Receptor Biology, Inc.
Receptor Biology was a leader in providing cloned receptors and other targets for drug discovery. One of bwtech@UMBC’s early success stories, the company was acquired by NEN Life Science Products Inc. in 2000 for an undisclosed sum.
