Research Park Resources
Economic Development – Resident companies can take advantage of a variety of tax credits and other incentives offered to bwtech@UMBC tenants. The Research Park’s location in a federal HUB Zone and a state Enterprise Zone offers additional benefits to our companies.
Campus – As a major research university, UMBC boasts an abundance of talented faculty and students. The sciences and engineering programs are highly ranked and offer bwtech@UMBC companies many opportunities for collaboration and access to shared scientific equipment. UMBC’s Office of Technology Development offers assistance with technology commercialization and is committed to supporting university-industry collaborations. Company employees also have access to other resources on campus, including day care, library, dining and fitness facilities.
Community – The nearby communities of Catonsville and Arbutus have retail districts with a variety of small shops and services. Catonsville was recently named by Money magazine as one of the U.S.’s Top 100 Best Places to Live.
